Awhile back, I bought a pre-made chai spice mix. It was delicious - and clean - but rather expensive for the small amount (considering a large part of the mix was just sugar!). I really liked the flavor though and decided to try and recreate it based on the ingredients list found on the side of the container.
It took a bit of tinkering, but I eventually got the proportions correct. I decided to leave the spices separate from the sugar so they could be used to flavor baked goods as well. Try adding some to your favorite muffin recipe or to your mug of bullet proof coffee - you won't be disappointed!
Or, if you'd like, try making the drink that made me fall in love with this particular blend of spices. I prefer using green tea for this, but you could use black if it's what you have on hand - or even rooibos if you don't tolerate tea well.
This beverage is tasty hot or cold, so feel free to make it as you like. If you can't have coconut, substitute your favorite milk.
